The Nissan 200sx with the SR20DET is a great car. The engine is a 2 litre 4 cyclinder turbo putting out 147kw @ the flywheel (Aust spec) and 184kw @ the flywheel (only in japan). Unfortunately in Australia we dont get the 184kw but it isnt hard to get that much power and much more with a few simple modifications to the engine and exhaust system. These are truly one of the most incredible sports cars in the world, with a true driving machine layout and dymanics.
I am from Sydney Australia and i have seen some really nice example of the 200sx and i have to admit they are one of the best possible sporting cars you can buy on a fairly tight budget without spending over $20000. Considering they have a true sports car layout they are not bad bang for your dollar.
NB in america the 200sx is acutally called a 240sx but u guys dont get the SR20DET motor, u have to get a conversion :-P
The dont come with any electronic control systems in Australia so they are prime machines for drifting and burnouts. They have aggressive looks are hold their resale value very well. They are in high demand by enthusiast drivers, thus reflecting their price. A 1995 model can still fetch around AUD$15000-17000 and a newer example such as 2002 model around $35000-40000 |
